We have an exciting opportunity to join our Surgery, Gastroenterology and Anaesthetics division as a Business Manager. In this varied and
interesting role, you will work closely with our Clinical and Operational Managers to provide business support and take forward the elective
recovery programme. This will be a great opportunity to work alongside the clinical services to transform patient pathways and services
supporting the Trust ambitions. You will be instrumental in supporting our patients with high quality and cost effective care and support the
division in achieving our financial standards. NHS experience is desirable but not essential, however a can do attitude and commercially focused
approach is key for this role.

This post will be worked across Colchester and Ipswich hospital sites with the opportunity for some home working.

Secondment opportunity will be considered 

Main duties of the job

Working directly to the Associate Director of Operations, you will use and apply your business knowledge and skills to support the senior
management teams across the organisation. You will work closely with the clinical delivery groups and other support services such as Business
Informatics, HR and Workforce, Finance to take forward the agreed business plans. This role will also develop financial opportunities to transform and improve patient experience.

This role requires good analytical and problem solving skills with an ability to analyse highly complex data/information and make judgements/draw
conclusions, including ability to respond to unexpected demands. For an outstanding candidate we would consider a developmental post.

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience of working in a management/leadership role
  • Identifying and interpreting national policy and implementing required changes
  • Leading service changes to improve performance
  • Experience of managing , leading and motivating a team
  • Business case development and annual planning, longer term planning

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to masters level or equivalent experience
  • Management/leadership qualification or equivalent experience at post graduate level
Desirable criteria
  • Project Management Qualification

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Financial procedures including budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes
  • Business planning /annual planning/long term planning
  • In depth understanding of change management
  • Good understanding of the current NHS agenda and healthcare policy
Desirable criteria
  • NHS IT systems

Skills

Essential criteria
