Job overview

We have an opportunity within our Aseptics Department for a full time Senior Pharmacy Assistant.

This post is to cover a secondment of a member of staff therefore is fixed term until 2nd December 2024. Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please ensure you have discussed this with your line manager.

You will work as part of a team, within the Aseptic department, providing a high quality, flexible and responsive service. 

You will prepare sterile injections ready for patient administration, including chemotherapy (cytotoxic), radiopharmaceuticals and general intravenous drugs.

About our Pharmacy Service

Previous experience of working in a cleanroom environment is desirable, but not essential. 

We are committed to provide a supportive environment with opportunities for training and personal development.

Consideration will be given for strong candidates who may not meet the essential criteria to undertake this role on a developmental basis with set competency targets.  Roles offered on a development basis will be banded lower than originally advertised until competency targets are met.

Main duties of the job

Aseptically manufacture named patient and batch products following procedures and worksheets.

Supervise the day-to-day workload of the Pharmacy Assistants within Aseptics.

Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the facility and equipment supporting the manufacturing process and to assist senior staff in demonstrating particular duties to junior and rotational staff.
