Job overview

Colchester Hospital are looking for a dynamic and motivated nurse to join our busy and friendly Wivenhoe Ward. This is a 20-bedded surgical ward specialising in Vascular Surgery.

You will support the unit sister in leading and developing the wonderful nursing team in this department and promote multi-disciplinary working to assist in the delivery of a patient-centred, clinically effect and dynamic service from the patient's admission assessment to discharge. This role requires commitment to providing a quality service and a supportive teaching environment.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will effectively manage and develop a nursing team and provide professional and clinical leadership in the delivery of high quality, safe, cost effective care to patients and their families. 

You will provide inspirational leadership to the department, be positively welcoming, effective and act as a credible role model.

You should be caring, compassionate, forward thinking, well-organised and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.

You will have well-developed communication and change management skills and share in our vision and commitment to continuously develop and improve.
