An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy Facilities Team within the Directorate of Estates & Facilities as Assistant Facilities Supervisor which comprises of cleaning, catering, portering, goods receiving services and linen/laundry management. 

Hrs per week -

Week 1, Monday,  Wednesday  & Friday 15.00 - 19.00 = 12 hours

Week 2, Monday, Wednesday & Friday 15.00 - 1900, Saturday & Sunday 07.00 - 13.30 (to include 30 minute unpaid break) & 15.00 - 19.00 = 32 hours

You will be responsible for the day to day co-supervision of the FM services and will be the customers’ point of contact for any FM related issues.

 As part of the Facilities Team you are expected to have a flexible approach, excellent interpersonal and customer skills, ability to use a degree of initiative to prioritise and organise you duties.

 You will be responsible for supporting the management of all the FM Assistants.

 To attend and participate in all training courses required for this post.  Required to undertake some mandatory training using a computer.

 Ensure that all areas are maintained to a clean and hygienic level for patients, trust staff and visitors in line with the current National Standards of Cleanliness.

To assist the FM Supervisor in organising the staff rosters and communicating shifts to the staff in a timely fashion.  To ensure that any staff who are new to the area are taken through the induction programme. To undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade that may be assigned from time to time.

 Carry out training with staff on use of equipment and safe methods of working.

 To assist the FM Supervisor in ensuring that staff are released for training as and when required.

 To support the FM Supervisor in the on-going development needs of staff including the identification of training needs, re-training needs, development of training plans and delivering practical training.

Undertake a variety of cleaning duties in line with the cleaning schedules (may include operating specialist equipment), this may include specialist cleaning also one off cleans in line with FM supervisors requirements.

 Be responsible for bringing to the attention of the FM Supervisor any faults on equipment, particularly damage to plugs/wiring etc on any electrical equipment. 

 Candidates should meet all the essential aspects of the attached Person Specification.

 Uniform will be provided.

 May be required to assist staff to complete their mandatory training via the Trusts electronic system.

 To assist the FM Supervisor in reviewing work schedules for the service in conjunction with the Facilities Officer.
