Health Improvement Training Officer (Tobacco Control)

Job overview
· To deliver a robust standard training programme which includes a schedule of training at level 1, 2 NSCT and update training for all subcontracted providers e.g. GP surgery, Community Groups, Staff in Hospitals
Main duties of the job
· Ensure training sessions are well-organised, effectively communicated, and meet the learning objectives
· Adapt training approaches to accommodate different learning styles and diverse employee backgrounds
· Assess the effectiveness of training
· Assist the pathway lead with promoting and liaising with a range of NHS non-NHS partners to ensure they have access to a smoking cessation training package including update training sessions
· Provide regular email contact to encourage opportunities for partners to engage in smoking cessation training
· Evaluate monthly training sessions delivered
· Act as first point of contact for all training correspondence/mail outs/follow ups and promotional campaigns to promote training opportunities

Essential criteria
- NSCST trained smoking advisor
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in smoking cessation programmes across a range of service settings, including community, primary care and in patient setting Experience of developing effective relationships with key stakeholders
- Experience of working with targeted communities Experience of providing 1-1 and group Essential: NCSCT Accredited Stop Smoking Practitioner Desirable: Public Health or community service management qualifications (or equivalent).
