Exciting times lie ahead for ESNEFT as we embark on the implementation of Epic, our chosen supplier for a new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. We are at the start of a generational digital transformation project with a focus on patient care.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Release Manager with proven experience and knowledge of organising major application software upgrades to be a part of the IT team.  

You will successfully define and implement the change control processes and co-ordinate updates, upgrades and environment moves for the ESNEFT Epic environment.  This hands-on role is also responsible for developing, testing, maintaining, monitoring and supporting the interfaces that migrate application builds between Epic environments. using the Epic Data Courier tool.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • You will develop, communicate, and manage the Epic environment strategy, including release plans and roadmaps for developed Epic solutions, and data migration methods and schedules.
  • Evaluate Epic’s Target Platform Roadmap to ensure that the Trust’s infrastructure is pro-actively upgraded, or any other appropriate action is taken, to be compliant.
  • You will develop new or enhance existing change control processes to include Epic components.
  • You will be establishing a sign-off process for Release Authorizations (RAs) from Epic.
  • You will be participating in or leading change control, upgrade planning, maintenance window planning, and go-live planning committees.
  • Design data migration strategies and manage large data loads.
  • Plan and coordinate the Epic upgrade, update, and refresh activities of the application and technical team leads. This will involve working flexible hours i.e. weekends & evenings for go-lives.
  • Maintain Data Courier interfaces and protection settings in accordance with the Trust’s policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with clients, third parties and vendors when managing planned work and ,service outages to cause minimum disruption to the users.

  • Extensive experience managing / leading an IT team supporting a complex multi-vendor environment.
  • Experience of managing hardware or software implementation or upgrades
  • Active participation in application development projects using Agile or Waterfall project management techniques e.g. SCRUM, Sprint planning etc
  • Handling complex organisational issues and constraints.
  • Proven experience of workload planning and delivery of key targets within a service environment.
  • Development and documentation of plans, standards, and operating procedures
  • Experience of implementing, improving, and using ITSM / ITIL processes e.g. Incident, Problem, Major Incident, Change, Configuration Management etc
  • Experience of facilitating change in practice to improve services

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification or significant experience of working at degree level

  • ITIL v3 or 4
  • Project Management Qualification

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good MS Project, MS Planner or other project management tools knowledge
  • Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills
  • Understanding of Windows and/or Linux Server Administration
  • Understanding of database administration (SQL)
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills – ability to analyse complex data/information and make judgements/draw conclusions
  • Understanding of Risk management and governance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, being able to communicate effectively with Trust colleagues at all levels within the organisation and with external partners.
