As we embark on our transformative journey, we are seeking an outstanding individual to join our team as the Associate Director of Operations for Clinical Support Services.

As the Associate Director of Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of surgery and critical care services within our trust. You will work closely with clinical leaders, operational teams, and external partners to drive excellence, innovation, and patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job

As the Associate Director of Operations for Clinical Support Services, you will play a pivotal role in our journey toward excellence. This includes:

  • Strategic leadership: Collaborate with the Divisional Director, Associate Director of Allied Health Professionals, Head of Nursing and other senior leaders to develop and implement the division’s strategy.
  • Clinical and Service Transformation: Support the implementation of the AlexHealth Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system, focusing on administrative and outpatient services.
  • Ensure Excellence in BAU Services: Oversee and maintain high-quality Business as Usual (BAU) services within the clinical support functions.
  • Personal and professional development: We are dedicated to your growth. Whether it’s leadership training, skill enhancement, or exposure to innovative technologies, we’ll be there to support you at every stage of your journey.
  • Performance management: Monitor key performance indicators, identify areas for improvement, and drive operational efficiency. You will collaborate with clinical teams to ensure high-quality care delivery.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop’s Stortford, and St Margaret’s Hospital in Epping. 

We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford and Epping. Our extended catchment area incorporates a population of up to 500,000 and includes the areas of Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.
