Job overview

Princess Alexandra Hospital Trust has three courageous goals: to provide outstanding care, to have truly integrated service provision and to be modern. We have two very ambitious projects that are going key to this transformation: the implementation of new a new EPR by 2024 and the development of a brand-new hospital on a green field.

 

These are very large programmes for our Trust, and we are looking for an Associate Director of Informatics to take a leadership position to support us on this journey. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced senior Informatician to serve as a bridge between clinical divisions and corporate function and Informatics, working at a senior leadership level to ensure all voices are represented in our decision making and planning.

 

Reporting to the executive chief information officer, you will have demonstrable experience in Informatics leadership and application of intelligence both predictive and historic to informed decision making. You will use the development of informatics to drive forward improvement and transformation of our clinical processes and pathways, laying the transition into a new hospital.

Main duties of the job

·        Actively seek improvement areas across the informatics teams which will positively impact on patient care.

·        Establish an organisational understanding of information and analytics and how best to utilise it to model change.

·        Build training materials and sharing sessions to guide colleagues in the use of Informatics built dashboards and reports.

·        Be proactive as the Informatics lead contact for colleagues across the region for information requests around system wide programmes.

·        Provide innovative information solutions to customers so evidence-based decisions can be made.

·        Seek systems or processes which will improve analytical techniques utilise for organisational improvements and planning.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

·        Design platforms and customer touchpoints to proactively collect and curate data for the data and analytical needs of the Trust.

·        Understands the end-to-end information lifecycle including the supporting technical infrastructure required and the data governance and cultural demands.

·        Heavily involved in transformation, and the education needed to embed analytics into the culture to become an Insight Driven Organisation.

·        Assesses the most appropriate operating model and data asset approach for the Trust.

·        Defines, adapt, and drive the Trust-wide analytics vision and operating model across Strategy, People, Process, Data and Technology.
