Job overview

SpR Haematology  - ST4 or above 

The Haematology service provides a comprehensive clinical and laboratory service for the local population. It spans 2 Departments with clinical haematology forming part of Oncology Department and laboratory haematology being part of Pathology Department. Both Oncology and Pathology Departments are part of Clinical Support Services Division. It also works closely with other directorates and departments

Main duties of the job

The duties of the Specialty Registrar will be based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.  You will be supported in the role by the team of Consultant Haematologists and the extended team.

The post holder will work Mon-Fri, 10PA’s per week, including:

  • Outpatient clinics,
  • Ward rounds,
  • Departmental meetings including MDT.
  • Supervising Anti-coagulation clinic on an ad hoc basis
  • Diagnostic laboratory work including performing bone marrow aspirates an trephines.

Contribute to clinical governance, audit and risk management activities
