Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and forward thinking Administrator within the Integrated Therapies administrative team. You will be working within our Orthotics department. You will be required to work on your own initiative to ensure the smooth running of the administrative functions of the Department.

You will have good communication skills, ability to work well in a team and excellent attention to detail and accuracy. You must have an excellent telephone manner, as you will be speaking to patients and their families on a daily basis.  You will also need to be able to plan and prioritise effectively, work within defined deadlines and have the ability to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service.  You will be confident with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point as well as a working knowledge of the Lorenzo patient administration system (or the ability to learn). 

You will ideally already have experience of working within the NHS. 

 

Main duties of the job

Providing a flexible, comprehensive, and efficient administrative service Managing PTL / choose and book referrals and other patient pathway related information identifying any deviation from expected planned progress, implementing solutions and highlighting by exception cases that are not resolved to the Clinical Team in a timely manner to expedite the continuing care of patients and the maintenance of RTT 18 weeks performance indicators.

Training and developing junior administrative, and apprentices to ensure all required competencies are achieved and sustained and introduction of new technology and processes are supported to deliver a responsive administrative service. 

Undertake routine tasks on own initiative and support other team members to undertake the full range of administrative activities including (but not exclusively) the following:  Manage mail

Validate and process clinical diary template changes of Therapists in accordance with procedures and in coordination with system support teams in order to maximise effective time management.

Manage and maintain the e-referral / Choose and Book process.

Manage and maintain the PTL escalating unresolved issues to the Clinical Team/Therapies Manager.
