We are excited to be able to offer an opportunity to join the Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist Team at Ipswich Hospital in our Acute Haematology service. This post is post is a fixed-term opportunity for 12 months.

We are a dynamic team of nurses that strive to deliver high standards of specialist care for Haematology. We have a wealth of experience in the team to support you and we will welcome your skills and experience. Your development is also important so there are opportunities for your continued professional development.

We would consider Band 6 developmental roles. This post is full time, however part time hours considered.

Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please ensure you have discussed this with your line manager.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

Provide a comprehensive service for patients with acute and chronic malignant haematological disorders.  You will provide expert care, advice and support to patients receiving treatment on in-patient and out-patient basis and to their families and as a resource to other staff.

This roles includes clinical duties, the development and leadership of nurse-led clinics to provide for the needs of the patients and their families.  You will also work closely and support the Oncology/Haematology day unit manager.

The haematology clinical nurse specialist sits within the wider nurse specialist team and you will be expected to provide cross cover across the wider Haematology specialties.

You will maintain an up to date knowledge base and will be expected to facilitate the professional development of nurses within the Division.

  • Significant proven post registration experience in Haematology nursing.
  • A broad range of experience working with Oncology patients and their families who have complex psychosocial needs
  • Understanding and management of patients undergoing SACT.
  • Experience of audit and research
  • Experience of teaching and assessing in clinical practice.
  • Competencies relevant to care group.
  • Understanding and experience of Acute Oncology.

  • Proven previous band 6/7 experience
  • Can demonstrate evidence of leading service development.
  • Experience of enhancing patient care.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse recorded on the NMC register
  • Teaching and assessing in clinical practice qualification.
  • Evidence or relevant post registration study to include at least one of the following: ENB 237/equivalent (Oncology), ENB 931/equivalent (Palliative Care), UKONS SACT Passport
  • Advanced communications skills
  • Psychological Care Level 2
  • Evidence of studying at a minimum of level 6 (first degree) with a willingness to study towards level 7 ( Masters)
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD.
