Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria

NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) in Occupational Health and Safety
Membership of professional health and safety organisation e.g. IOSH and/or evidence of continued professional development
Driving Licence for the UK and access to a vehicle
Training qualification or willing to obtain (e.g. Level 3 AET/PTLLS, TAQA)

Desirable criteria

Relevant degree or equivalent experience
Risk Management Qualification
Auditor training
Project management training

Experience

Essential criteria

Experience of advising on Health and Safety matters
Investigation experience
Experience in delivering Health and Safety training
Auditing experience
Experience of producing and delivering high quality reports

Desirable criteria

NHS or Public Sector Experience

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Detailed knowledge of current health and safety law
Good understanding of RIDDOR reporting
Good understanding of risk assessment techniques
Knowledge of Healthcare Health and Safety standards
Use of IT systems (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook) – standard keyboard skills

Desirable criteria

NHS IT systems e.g. DATIX
Understanding of HBN and HTM
Auditing software
Understanding of NHS agenda
