Job overview
We are looking for an efficient and enthusiastic Materials Management Officer to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for provision of a support services to users of the new Inventory Management Systems (IMS) ensuring stock usage is captured and all orders are processed in a timely manner, following all Trust policies and procedures and Health and Safety requirements.
With the implementation of new structures & systems and continued national developments this is an exciting time to be part of Procurement. ESNEFT Procurement is a progressive department, looking to integrate with clinical and operational colleagues, define innovative ways of working and delivering on financial target.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for provision of a support services to users of the new Inventory Management Systems (IMS) ensuring stock usage is captured and all orders are processed in a timely manner, following all Trust policies and procedures and Health and Safety requirements.
- The adoption of a flexible approach towards any supplies activities undertaken and a requirement to provide support where it is required on a daily basis including but not limited to
- Delivering stock to multiple locations across the site
- Receipting goods into the IMS
- Supporting ordering by stores persons
- Assisting operating theatres teams in the capture of implants at point of care
- The operation of a range of tasks with a requirement for working in different locations throughout the Trust.
- Responsible for effective communication in both person, written format or by e-mail, and respond to urgent telephone and bleep requests taking appropriate action, to ensure, timely and appropriate communications with all stakeholders including Trust colleagues, NHS Supply Chain, and Suppliers to the Trust and their company representatives.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE grade 5/C or equivalent in English and Maths
- NVQ level 3 in administration/secretarial or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous administrative/operational role
- Working collaboratively as part of a team
- Advanced IT Systems including - Microsoft Office
- Experience of communicating with a range of people both within and external to the organisation
- Experience of working with P2P systems and relevant e-replenishment systems
- Awareness of the importance of Health and Safety relating to work and the need for Confidentiality in a hospital setting
Desirable criteria
- NHS experience
- Experience within relevant work area
- Experience of working with members of the public
- Supervision/co-ordination of other team members
Knowledge and Skills
