Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our operational management team within Women's Health Services at Ipswich Hospital as a Service Manager.

This role is ideal for a dynamic individual looking to expand their knowledge and leadership experience within the NHS.

Working with a team of dedicated healthcare professionals to deliver our service, you will be able to develop your operational and management skills in a supportive and innovative atmosphere. This role plays a major role in the continuing development of service delivery for the benefit of our patients where care and compassion are central to everything we do.

Main duties of the job

In conjunction with the General Manager, to provide operational management support to the services within the designated departments/ services of responsibility, within the Division. This will be undertaken jointly with the respective Clinical Service Directors and the Head of Operations for the Division 

In conjunction with the General Manager to manage all aspects of operational delivery within the relevant clinical specialties of East Suffolk & North East Essex Foundation Trust to agreed quality standards and within the resource and income base available, to support the Trust’s development as a clinically led organisation.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level of equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Post graduate diploma in Management or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and skills to Masters level through relevant experience or qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Health service management qualification or equivalent experience.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of managing clinical services
  • NHS budget management experience
  • Project or Change management
  • Experience of leading on projects involving multidisciplinary staff in order to improve service delivery / performance
  • Proven experience in any of the following: NHS waiting list management ; Administration management ; Customer Care; Staff supervision; Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams; Portal User
