Job overview

Southend Hospital's Emergency Department team are looking for an enthusiastic Housekeeper to join their team.  The successful candidate must have excellent communication skill and be able to work as part of a team.  The successful candidate will be required to work a mix of long days and night shifts.  As a  team the service covers week days, weekends and holidays.  

This busy department sees approximately 300 patients attending each day.  The housekeeper will form an essential part of the team in supporting patients hydration needs in the department, ordering and maintaining stock levels and maintaining standards of cleanliness in the department

Main duties of the job

To provide cleaning services as part of a team to all clinical and non-clinical areas within the department. To support the team in ensuring stock is stored and maintained in a safe and efficient way. 

To demonstrate compassion at all times with patients and carers, staff and visitors. To contribute to and support changes made from quality improvement activities and to promote at all times a positive image of people with renal conditions.
