Job overview

The Programme

EPUT and MSEFT are embarking on the implementation of a UK first of type Unified Electronic Patient Record (UEPR) system that spans Acute, Mental Health and Community services. The new system will be delivered through the Nova Programme, alongside our commercial partners for this significant transformative journey.

At the heart of our ambitious programme is a commitment to people – our patients, our staff and our community. We believe that the key to successful innovation lies in fostering a supportive, inclusive culture that values every individual’s contribution.

We have exciting opportunities to join the Nova programme in the role of EPMA SME Nurse and to be part of our mission and successful delivery of the programme.

Main duties of the job

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) provides services to the residents of Southend, Basildon, and Chelmsford. It was formed in April 2020 by the merger of Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust, and Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) provides community health, mental health and learning disability services to support more 3.2 million people living across Bedfordshire, Essex, and Suffolk.

EPUT was formed on 1 April 2017 following the merger of North Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (NEP) and South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT).

EPUT and MSEFT are embarking on a UK first of type EPR for a single system that spans Acute, Mental Health and Community health services. We have singed a contract with Oracle Health to implement the Cerner solution and are excited to offer this role to an experienced SME Nurse to support us in delivering the programme.

The post holder will be a key member of a multidisciplinary team involved in the planning, implementation and development of a single ePMA system across Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT).

Working for our organisation

With a workforce of approximately 15,000 staff, we can now do more and go further in delivering health services to our local communities.

Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.

Patients will experience improved care as well as fewer delays and cancellations.  We are able to provide more once-in-a-lifetime specialist care region-wide. With our new trust size will come more opportunities for development, research, networking and innovation.

We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff due to more employment opportunities across our Trust.
