We are looking to recruit  enthusiastic registered mental health nurses to create a team of Professional Nurse Educators.  This exciting opportunity has arisen for  registered nurses with recent clinical experience at a senior level to facilitate and support the clinical, professional and educational development of mental health nursing workforce in our Trust. The post holders will have a significant focus on advancing inpatient nursing practice and clinical education within the Trust

Main duties of the job

Working within our adult mental health acute care pathways, the Professional Nurse Educators will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of a programme of clinically relevant practice education, supporting the professional development of the mental health nurses throughout their career journey.

The Professional Nurse Educators must be passionate about mental health nursing and mental health nurse education and development. The desired candidates will be able to demonstrate their professionalism and innovative attitude to challenges in the workplace and have a commitment to empowering others.

The ideal candidates will be able to work autonomously and within a team, whilst demonstrating excellent leadership skills. They will also have a strong clinical background within their area of nursing, as well as a range of clinical and practice experience within NHS services. Additionally, they will demonstrate great interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, support and motivate staff of all levels, including but not limited to student nurses, health care assistants, nursing associates and all nursing staff, enabling them to achieve their professional development whilst feeling supported and valued. Ideally, we are looking for  experienced nurses who is passionate about the development of others and keen to enhance their skills and knowledge in support and staff development

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of a programme of clinically relevant practice education to support the professional development of the mental health nursing team, with a specific focus on enabling the delivery of high quality patient/person centred care that is grounded in evidence-based practice and underpinned by national, organisational and trust objectives, guidelines, and policies.

The post holder will provide expert knowledge and clinical leadership to the clinical team, facilitating the application of theory to practice within a designated clinical setting.

The post holder will ensure sufficient high-quality placements to enable safe, effective, compassionate care to be delivered by all learners and staff.
