Job overview

The post holder will provide day to day management support to MDT Cancer Services, help to support to the Cancer Management team in implementing and embedding best working practice within the MDT Team, as well as maintaining a high level of accurate data collection for Cancer Services within the Trust.

In addition to effective communication skills, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to embrace and deliver change. 

This role will be an excellent opportunity for candidates who wish to develop their operational or management career within the trust.

Main duties of the job

Overview:

To supervise, develop and train multi-disciplinary co-ordinators and MDT support staff.

To enable provision of administrative support to the multi-disciplinary team meetings being undertaken within the region. 

To observe National Cancer Waiting Times targets and Cancer Services standards as identified in the NHS Cancer Plan, ensuring the data collection process is carried out in a timely manner.

To ensure that all related documentation is prepared and maintained, including relevant audit data.

To ensure National Guidance and Protocols are implemented effectively, in particular interpreting cancer waiting times guidelines and providing guidance to others.

To work unsupervised and be self-motivated.

To deputise the CWT Data Manager during periods of absence.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- Effective supervision of MDT Services across the county.

- Effective observation of Cancer Waiting Times.

- To analyse Cancer Waiting Times data and liaise with members of the MDT and Service Delivery to identify potential delays in treatment.

- Assist in the design, development and implementation of MDT policies and procedures

- Strong leadership skills with experience of working within a team.

- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Infoflex and TRAC.

- Good interpersonal skills.

- Previous experience of conducting training

- Responsible for ensuring that the standards of performance and delivery of MDT Co-Ordinators and trackers are monitored and achieved on a daily basis.

- Responsible for organising, conducting and monitoring staff personal development reviews and appraisals in line with Trust policies and procedures.

 -Responsible for recruitment and selection of staff in line with trust policies.

  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • IT qualification in computer skills including Excel
