We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our in patient navigation team assisting a multidisciplinary team of qualified nurses, radiographers and radiologists in providing high quality care in our very busy radiology departments at GHNHSFT, providing imaging services to patients from all walks of life.
The successful candidate will develop specific skills and competencies to support our teams 24/7.
We have recently undergone a £6.5m equipment replacement programme on the Cheltenham General site, and are undergoing significant investment on the Gloucestershire Royal site as part of the Image Guided Interventional Service (IGIS) and fit for the future project. These initiatives ensure we are able to continue in offering exceptional patient care 24/7.
Our team is also focused on career progression and we offer three routes for our inpatient navigators:
-in house training leading to expertise within Radiology and pay progression within the role
-Trainee Assistant Practitioner program towards a career in Radiography
-Trainee Nurse Associate program towards a career as a Registered Nurse
Main duties of the job
This is an essential position to the safe and effective patient journey from the wider hospital to the Radiology department supporting the individual modalities in preparing patients for imaging, liaising with wards/porters/transfer teams to move patients to and from Radiology and also acting as a liaison and link between other professionals and the Radiologists, directing queries to the most appropriate forum.
It is therefore essential that you are a good communicator and can liaise with all individual with respect and dignity both face to face and over the phone.
Radiology is a fast paced environment so the ability to work as part of a team in an efficient, sometimes pressured environment, is key. You should be a good team player but also able to work under your own initiative and enjoy a challenge.

Qualifications / Experience
Essential criteria
- Desire to help people
- Caring and Compassionate
- Basic IT skills
- GCSE Maths and English C or equivalent
- English as first language or International English Language Test (IELTS) certificate
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience with appointment booking/management
- Previous Healthcare experience
