Band Maternity - Psychological Wellbeing Support Practitioner
30 Hrs per week, cross site (Basingstoke, Andover and Winchester)
The post holder will be responsible for running support and educational groups for those who are pregnant and suffering with mild to moderate mental health challenges under the guidance of the midwifery team.
Main duties of the job
· The Psychological Wellbeing Support Worker will work closely with the Psychological Wellbeing Midwife and Mental Health Midwives, and other Healthcare professionals, to assist in the smooth running of small groups for women, and their partners, in the antenatal period to support psychological and emotional wellbeing.
· The postholder will be responsible for assessing psychological wellbeing of members before, after and during each contact, escalating any concerns.
· The groups will be held primarily face to face, in locations across Hampshire at times that maximise engagement from both women and partners. The aim of the sessions is to provide information, advice, tools and techniques, peer support and onward referral when required.
