Job overview

We are looking for a band 3 MSK Physiotherapy Assistant to join our friendly therapy family in HHFT.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for implementing delegated tasks which form part of the patient's treatment programme, reporting back to the supervising therapist prior to progressing to the next stage in the programme.
  • To work with qualified therapists for the benefit of the patient and facilitating the patients progression through the treatment plan, within the protocols/ plans set out by the qualified therapists.
  • To be responsible for prioritising and planning of own daily programme of work
  • To review caseload on a regular basis and report to Senior Therapist when concerns are found over new or complex fi ndings.
  • To use your initiative in responding to unforeseen clinical situations.
  • To document interventions accurately and promptly and to keep the overseeing therapists

regularly updated as to the patient's progress.

  • To provide cross team cover as required within the limits of competencies.

  • Able to present clear written communication

  • Has qualification in relevant computer skills or able to evidence using Microsoft Word, Outlook and powerpoint to a high standard

Training & Qualifications

  • First aid certificate
  • Foundation degree, NVQ relevant competency framework, or equivalent

Knowledge and skills

  • Experience of working in an enabling or caring environment

  • experience in group work, for example, ability to conduct patient education sessions

  • Demonstrates good organisational skills and being a good team player
