Job overview

South, Central and West (SCW) is an NHS organisation providing support and transformation services to health and care systems, predominantly NHS England and Integrated Care Boards. Our award-winning procurement team of c.100 people has an interesting and diverse project portfolio, ranging from community, mental health and primary care services through to digital solutions for health and a whole range of other fields, such as consultancy and professional services.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic person to work in the Procurement team to assist with the delivery of our work. If you have good note taking skills, like organising meetings and events, have intermediate Microsoft experience, a good eye for detail and want a challenge - please apply. 

Our procurement team predominantly provide procurement support to NHS Commissioners/Integrated Care Boards across the South of England, who commission clinical/healthcare services for their communities. As part of the role the successful candidate will be expected to attend meetings and events across the South of England that may on occasion require overnight stays dependent on geography.

This role can be delivered in a flexible hybrid way with any travel, site visits or meetings arranged by agreement on a very occasional basis.

 

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will assist Procurement managers with their projects and at the same time commence a procurement training/learning and development programme to enhance skills and knowledge. Tasks will include but not limited to organising meetings, handling enquiries from inside and outside the organisation, supporting on projects of all sizes, data collection and analysis, creating/managing project workplans and general assistance to the team.

Provide and coordinate administrative and secretarial services; including for example, the preparation of agendas and minutes, taking appropriate follow-up action as required.

Support the team with the management of projects, gathering information and undertaking enquiries as and when is necessary for the head of department, teams and the department.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to support and manage small scale or less complex projects that support our customer recommissioning processes. Key responsibilities include:

·       Supporting procurement managers who are leading Commissioners through an agreed procurement strategy to achieve compliance with procurement governance and customer Standing Financial Instructions, depending on project complexity.

·       Supporting on systems and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that procurement documents, processes and portals reflect clear arrangements and information, and run smoothly.

Education

  • Minimum 4 GCSE passes including English or demonstrable ability to equivalent level

Knowledge & Experience
