Main duties of the job
To reduce our reliance on agency/bank staff - we have 3 posts in our End User Devices team. This team are responsible for hardware across the Trust and external sites including laptops, desktops, monitors, printers and more. We're after experienced customer-focused technicians to ensure our clinical staff have the kit available to complete their tasks.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and provide user support for digital systems and/or hardware.
* Responsible for core applications and/or hardware and for providing second-line support for these at a specialist level, including configuration changes, data corrections, hardware maintenance or device replacements.
* Process and resolve user service requests for relevant systems and/or hardware.
* Grant users’ access to assigned systems and / or hardware, in line with current policies and procedures.
* Liaise with wider IT teams with regards to complex system problems and user set-up, working to resolve issues escalating large-scale issues as appropriate.

Essential criteria
- Degree or equivalent experience in application support
Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Ability to explain IT issues to non-IT staff and extract relevant information from them to help diagnose IT problems
- Previous experience of working in an IT Support service
- Evidence of supporting users through change
- Relevant experience of IT systems administration/maintenance
- High level of understanding of what it means to deliver customer service
- Good knowledge and understanding of Data Protection issues
- Writing IT technical knowledge in simple plain English
- Demonstrable ability to solve complex problems
- Experience in presenting material to a range of stakeholders
- Ability to manage own workload when faced with conflicting priorities
Desirable criteria
- Previous or relevant experience of working within a Healthcare environment
- Basic knowledge of SQL
- Experience or knowledge of application testing
- Basic knowledge of any programming language(s)
- Previous experience of working on a large project
- Experience in people management / supervision
- Good knowledge and understanding of Data Protection issues. Experience in desktop computing hardware such as laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, mobile devices
