An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated, enthusiastic, dynamic experienced nurse to join our friendly multidisciplinary team with a passion for education in Neurosciences ICU as a Band 6 clinical educator sister/charge nurse. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and a strong commitment to developing others and have an understanding of how to improve and provide safe, quality care for patients and their relatives.
 
Neurosciences Intensive Care is a 13-bedded unit in University Hospitals Southampton NHS Foundation trust, offering an integrated specialist regional service for neurosurgical and neurological patients admitted as either emergencies or elective patients for a population of over three million.
 
As a specialist unit situated within the Wessex Neurological Centre (a center of excellence in the treatment of neurological disorders), we admit patients with a range of neurological and neurosurgical conditions, including multi trauma patients as Southampton is designated as a regional major trauma centre. As a unit we actively participate in various research programmes and we also have a team of Nurse Specialists who support the delivery of patient care.
 
We pride ourselves in the provision of exemplary standards of care, our patient outcomes and the support we provide to our patients, relatives and staff.
 
The successful candidate will support the delivery of the education agenda of Neuro ICU that will include for example working with staff in the clinical environment, supporting the implementation of new ways of working that enhances the quality of patient care. You will need to lead, motivate and supervise the professional work of nursing staff at Band 5 and below, exercising good leadership and control. You will also assist the Matron and Band 7 senior nursing team in the management of the Unit over a 24-hour period, ensuring high standards of care are maintained using available resources.
 
 
You will need to have:
 
- First level Registered Nurse
 
- A Neurosciences or Critical Care qualification
 
- Evidence of relevant teaching and supporting learners in practice experience.
 
- Evidence of management experience
 
- Clinical and Leadership Ability
 
- Up to date experience of working in a Neuro Critical Care setting
 
- Good interpersonal, communication skills
