We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day operational management and strategic direction of our private patient and NHS overseas services. In this crucial role, you will ensure optimal patient throughput, lead service improvement projects, and manage a dedicated team of administrative and clerical staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
For this role, the key responsibilities are as follows:
• Operational Management: Oversee the effective day-to-day management of services, making decisions and providing solutions to staff to ensure optimal throughput and patient experience.
• Strategic Leadership: Shape and deliver the strategic direction of the Service, identifying areas for improvement and leading projects to enhance resource availability and streamline processes.
• Performance Management: Manage the delivery of speciality and operational targets, negotiating with consultant clinicians to ensure patient activity throughout, and flexing capacity as needed.
•Staff Management: Line manage admin and clerical staff, ensuring effective performance monitoring, absence management, and adherence to Trust policies and values.
We are expecting the post holder to be able to demonstrate their experience in the following:
• Demonstrated capability and capacity for senior-level management of health services, including staff and resource management.
• Proven experience in project management, with the ability to implement policy guidelines and projects from initiation to completion.
• Strong skills in communication, negotiation, and influencing to effectively manage change and resolve incidents.
• Advanced IT skills to manipulate complex datasets, analyse trends, and monitor progress against targets.
Additional requirements include:
• Must be flexible to cover varying shift patterns as required, some weekend working may be required in the future.
• Ability to travel to hospital sites, as necessary for the role; a driving license is advantageous.

Essential criteria
- First degree/equivalent professional qualification/equivalent experience
- Leadership training
- Training and experience to Masters’ or equivalent level/post graduate level study

- Project Management qualification / further training or demonstrates substantial level of project delivery experience
Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Consolidated experience to demonstrate capability and capacity for management of health services at a senior level
- Demonstrable staff and resource management experience across a range of a variety of issues
- Able to facilitate and implement policy, guidelines and projects from initiation to completion
- Demonstrates experience of managing challenging problems by developing practical workable solutions to address them.
- Ability to communicate vision to staff and manage change effectively.
