Job overview
We are looking for a qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our team of pharmacy staff serving Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
You will be based in the Pharmacy Technician-managed dispensary at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire hospital, but the flexibility to travel to all hospitals within the Trust is essential.
Main duties of the job
- Supervising junior staff & workflow
- Supporting with training others
- Participating in reviewing SOPs
- Investigating incident reports
- Final Accuracy Checking
- Supporting workflow
- Dispensing inpatient and out-patient prescriptions
- Stock control, ordering and supply of medicines

- Registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
ACPT Accreditation
Essential criteria
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician Qualification
Desirable criteria
- Practice Supervisor Accreditation
- NVQ A1 Assessor
Computers
Essential criteria
- Experience of working with pharmacy computer systems
Desirable criteria
- Experience of using JAC
- Previous hospital experience
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
