Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a friendly and dynamic multi-disciplinary team, developing and advancing skills and knowledge in the field of Rheumatology.

In-house and external training will be provided according to the need of the individual and the department.

There is access to clinical expertise and oversight to enable optimal care and career development. The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate care is essential to our organisation.

The post holder will be expected to develop advanced clinical skills, theoretical knowledge and practical experience.  They will ensure that clinical care of patients is evidence based and carried out in line with the British Society of Rheumatology and NICE guidelines. They will work closely within the multidisciplinary team using their acquired expertise to deliver a high standard of patient centered Consultant lead Rheumatology care.

 

Main duties of the job

To work collaboratively with the Rheumatology Consultants and practitioner team in the planning and provision of a gold standard service

This includes:

  • High standards of Professional Practice to ensure quality and safety of patient care, experience and the patient journey
  • Specialised clinical practice, knowledge, skills 
  • Leading by example
  • Supporting and contributing to the team in ensuring that clinical services are delivered to a high quality of care and that all compliance requirements such as CQC and contractual requirements are achieved.

Analytical and Judgement skills:

  • To undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients including those with a complex presentation where factors may be conflicting, requiring high level analysis and interpretation skills and the comparison of a range of options to achieve effective treatment
  • To develop clinically reasoned treatment/ action and to undertake and evaluate

To develop the above skill set with the staff who report to you or for whom you have a responsibility to train.

Qualifications/Training

Essential criteria
  • BSc Nursing, Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC or NMC Registration
Desirable criteria
  • Additonal PostGrad Training

Experience/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of recent and continuous appropriate experience
  • Demonstrate effective management of own workload and autonomous practice
  • Knowledge & experience within the NHS in a wide range of medical conditions and awareness of evidence based practice
  • Evidence of undertaking relevant post graduate training/ CPD including reflective practice
Desirable criteria
  • Previous appropriate Band 6 Experience
  • Evidence of researching HHFT as an employer and expressing wanting to work for the Trust

Skills and Ability

Essential criteria
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate or show potential to lead a team in seniors absence

Other Specific Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Holding a current driving licence with insurance for business purposes or able to arrange equivalent alternative
Desirable criteria
  • Willingness to work cross site, at short notice if needed
  • Skills in service development
