Job overview

This role is a fantastic opportunity to lead our exciting Organisational Development (OD), inclusion and engagement agenda.  The Trust's "Great Together" strategy identifies our people as one of five key strategic priorities, with a vision of attracting, developing and retaining a skilled, compassionate workforce by creating inclusive and thriving workplaces, by:

·       Prioritising staff wellbeing

·       Embedding our inclusive culture

·       Eliminating any form of discrimination, bullying, or harassment

·       Providing exceptional training, development and learning opportunities

·       Creating exciting new roles and clear career pathways

The Head of OD, Inclusion and Engagement will play a pivotal part in achieving this strategic vision.

We are looking for an experienced OD lead, who will be able to contribute specialist OD expertise and lead on culture, employee engagement, belonging and inclusion, talent management, reward, recognition and staff wellbeing to ensure a fully integrated, comprehensive employment offer which enables our people to thrive and choose to remain and further their careers at HPFT.

This is a great opportunity to join our values-driven team and to keep making HPFT Great, Together so that all our people are able to thrive and provide great care and achieve great outcomes for our service users and carers.

Main duties of the job

To provide expert Organisational Development (OD) advice and support to the Trust on complex OD, culture change, team development and transformational change.

To lead and manage a range of specialist areas of the People and OD agenda with responsibility for employee engagement, wellbeing, belonging and inclusion, culture reward, recognition and talent management.

To support the People and OD team to further HPFT's strategic vision of attracting, developing and retaining a skilled, compassionate workforce by creating inclusive and thriving workplaces.

Working for our organisation

At HPFT, we have recently launched our new strategy, Great Together co-produced and developed with service users, carers, staff, partners and local communities. It guides our journey over the next five years, as we continue to work together to improve care and outcomes for the people and communities we serve

Hertfordshire Partnerships University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) are a leading and progressive provider of mental health and learning disability services. We provide services to a population of 1.2million people in Hertfordshire, with additional services provided to the populations of Buckinghamshire, Essex and Norfolk. With 60,000 referrals per year, we have over 450,000 contacts with service users and patients we support in community settings. In May 2019 the Trust was assessed as ‘Outstanding’ by its regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

We are a values driven organisation and our aim is to ensure that we deliver an experience that is consistently welcoming, kind, positive, respectful and professional. Our people are highly motivated, as evidenced by some of the best staff survey results in the NHS and their response during the pandemic period has been nothing short of exceptional. There is no complacency and we are continually striving to improve and deliver great care and great outcomes to everyone we support.
