We have a Community Nursing position available in Upper Lea Valley ICT, covering Hoddesdon, Hertford, Ware, Standon and surrounding villages.
HCT are proud to offer all newly qualified practitioners and international recruited staff a Preceptorship programme that supports their transition to autonomous, confident and competent practitioner. The annual programme will cover topics such as Patient safety, communications skills, safeguarding, quality improvement, leadership, and management. As a Preceptee you will have regular meetings with your preceptor and AHP Preceptorship lead.
If you are a student nurse, please be aware that working in an acute Trust is not compulsory before gaining your first position in the community as we provide full training and support.
Main duties of the job
Whilst this is a full time post, we welcome applications from part time candidates.
We provide routine and Hospital at Home nursing between the hours of 8am and 10pm, 7 days per week. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated nurses to join our friendly, supportive team and work alongside GPs, Therapists, Social Workers and CPN’s.
This is a great place to start your nursing career or gain experience in community nursing. Our nurses gain skills in wound care, medication administration including IV therapy, bladder and bowel management and palliative care.
Successful candidates will be supported by experienced senior staff and specialist nursing services. There is a varied training programme to develop your community skills, including courses provided by the University of Hertfordshire such as mentorship and prescribing.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder is a member of the Primary Health Care Team and may take responsibility in the absence of the Community Nursing Sister for the team and caseload.
The post holder is responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised nursing care to patients living in the community.
The service is provided seven days per week.
A commitment to health promotion teaching and training is essential.
