Job overview

We are recruiting for a Nurse Team Leader who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We are looking for that special person who enjoys a challenge and ready to commit to the role of team leader within our dynamic SACT day unit based at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

The day unit has 20 treatment chairs and operates from 08:00 - 20:00 Monday to Friday treating adult patients with Chemotherapy, immunotherapies and targeted cancer therapies.

Main duties of the job

The Nurse Team Leader will be responsible for delivering a high standard of specialist nursing care to all patients within MVCC. Able to coordinate the overall management of the Unit.

Facilitating the education and support of qualified and unqualified staff and participating in the development of nursing practice in the clinical area.

Working independently/autonomously without direct supervision, accountable for own professional actions.

Take an active role in deputising and supporting the ward Sister.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

ENHT is seeking to maintain and expand the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre staff as we move to an exciting new future.

We welcome applications from those who would relish the opportunity to be part of new and developing cancer service, building on the excellent reputation, research and patient experience the Cancer Centre already delivers.

In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,314 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata.

  • In possession of Oncology or Haematology Care modules
  • SACT accredited course or competencies

  • BSc / Msc
  • Counselling Skills

Previous experience

  • Proven experience at Band 5 in Oncology / Haematology
  • Working with learners
  • Handling distressed patients and carers and other staff members
