An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrator & Receptionist to work as part of a busy administration team within the CAMHS Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team.

 The CAMHS Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team is a multi-award winning, multidisciplinary community team working with under 18's who have presented in mental health crisis.

Main duties of the job

The post holder of this role will be expected to carry out reception and administration duties on behalf of the clinical team. 
You will be supported by a skilled and experienced administrative team. This is a good learning and development opportunity for someone wanting to work in the NHS and make a difference to the experience of children, young people and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This will predominantly include, amongst other tasks: Welcoming visitors; processing telephone enquiries on behalf of the team; inputting patient information onto the Trust electronic patient records; scanning; organising outgoing and incoming post; and formatting clinical letters.

Person specification

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TRAINING

Essential criteria
  • GCSE’s including English and Math/NVQ II or equivalent, or willing to work towards this qualification
  • Good level of numeracy and literacy skills

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • General knowledge of office procedures with interest in Health Service Issues
  • Be proficient in the use of computerised systems especially Word & Excel to a level to enable the production of a high standard of finished work

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication skills when dealing with service users, their relatives/carers and other outside agencies either by telephone/letter/email or face to face contact
  • At least two years’ experience of working in a health care/mental health care/office environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to apply discretion when required
  • Understanding of Mental Health issues or willingness to undertake training to support this
  • Demonstrating respect and empathy with service users.

ANALYTICAL SKILLS

Essential criteria
  • Display the ability to exercise initiative, tact and judgement and be able to make decisions when required to do so
  • Appreciation of confidentiality
  • Display ability to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to organise and prioritise own workload and to work under pressure and within agreed guideline
