Job overview
We are recruiting for an Administrator- Supporting Asthma Nurse who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
An exciting opportunity exists for a committed individual to join the Acute Paediatrics team as an admin support based at Lister Hospital.
We are looking for candidates that have the ability to work to tight timescales and use their initiative. An understanding of the NHS is desirable, together with IT skills, proven experience of using a word processing package (preferably Microsoft Word) and excellent keyboard skills.
As a member of the team, you will be working closely with the team ensuring timely management of department administration.

We are Ideally looking for the post holder to work Monday, Wednesday and Friday but other working patterns can be considered.

Main duties of the job
Provide effective administration support, including coordination of outpatient appointments and managing a database for the asthma nurse within the Acute Paediatric team.
Ensure all referrals are entered onto the Lorenzo system on the appropriate waiting list, according to ‘date of receipt’ in the hospital. Date stamp all referrals upon arrival in the department.
Ensure all referrals are regularly passed to clinicians to assign appointment priority in a timely manner.
Take telephone calls, ensuring that all relevant issues are dealt with, or accurate messages recorded and passed on to the appropriate person/s.
Deal with relatives and health care professionals courteously, ensuring that issues are resolved, or that a named individual takes responsibility for issues which cannot be resolved immediately.
Arrange appointments for patients and input patient appointment dates and times onto Lorenzo, ensuring current demographic details are correct. Ensure all attendances and outcomes are documented.
