Job overview

We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse - Ward 6A who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. 

The Acute and Renal Medical Services at the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust (Lister Hospital) provide a vibrant, exciting and professional environment .

Ward 6A is a diverse ward with different medical specialities. 

The Registered Nurse post is a vital and valued role to support in providing high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patient/clients and their families/carers. Based on a ward or unit setting they work closely 
with the department / ward manager and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care, staff and service development within the ward or unit setting.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will participate as a member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of research based care, support the team of staff working in the area to deliver a quality service which is linked to high standard of patient care and support the Sisters / Charge Nurses and Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in the training and development of junior staff.

Provide essential nursing care and putting the patients first.

Administering medications when due.

Admitting, planning, evaluating and discharging patients

Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing collages, the Multidisciplinary Team and all other relevant personnel

  • Registered Nurse on part 1, part 2 or part 12 of the NMC register
  • Commitment to lifelong learning
