We are recruiting for a Medical Education Manager who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients

An exciting opportunity has arisen within The Lister Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Education department.

You will enjoy working in a challenging and fast paced environment and have a breadth of knowledge and experience across a range of medical education programmes in the NHS. You will enjoy building a strong and committed team of people; administrators and tutors, whilst working closely with a range of directors, senior doctors and medical students/trainees. You will also be familiar with and confident liaising with external organisations across the Integrated Care System, NHS England – East of England and Medical Schools.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

In collaboration with the Director of Medical Education (DME) and College Tutors, the post holder will implement NHS England, University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine (UCSCM) and the University College London (UCL) initiatives into operational performance within the Trust to enhance education and training.

The post encompasses lead responsibility for the quality assurance, innovation and governance for the Department of Medical Education against the Education Contract (previously Learning and Development Agreement (LDA)) with NHS England and the Undergraduate agreements with UCSCM and UCL. You will therefore act as the main link between NHS England - East of England and the Trust and be responsible for the monitoring and achievement of GMC, NHSE, UCSCM and UCL and Trust targets.

In this role this will  involve financial management responsibilities associated with the Education Contract, including business planning, departmental policy and service development.

You will be required to represent the department on behalf of the DME both within the Trust and at meetings with external organisations (Foundation School, National Association Clinical Tutor, NHSE - East of England and Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education forums and at times deputising for the DME / Associate Medical Director for Education and Training.

  • Experience of recruiting, motivating, training and managing staff
