Job overview

We are recruiting for a Senior Audiologist who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. 

We are undergoing a huge transformational change: Major investment in facilities, equipment and staff means this is an exciting time to join this team. 

As a department we put an emphasis on the development of our staff and regularly send members of our team on external training courses.

This vacancy is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in more than just the core audiology work and training is available for staff to develop their interests in Adult Rehabilitation, Tinnitus Retraining Therapy and Vestibular Assessment.

Main duties of the job

The department provides a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative service to the population of East & North Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. The Audiology department operates a number of services including adult hearing aid service, diagnostic vestibular and children's assessments.

Full diagnostic support and rehabilitation services to 5 ENT consultants & 1 Audiological Physician.

Direct Access Hearing Aid Clinics

Balance Assessment Clinics using Caloric & ENG / VNG testing

Tinnitus clinics

Research and audits

Dedicated paediatric clinics including VRA / ABR/ Steady State / OAE

The ability to attend Satellite clinics is essential.

Applicants must hold a BSc in Audiology or equivalent qualifications. Experience within adult rehab & diagnostics is essential and paediatric audiology is preferred. Applicants should also have, or be able to achieve RCCP registration, and membership of BAA while not essential is desirable.

  • Certificate of clinical competency or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • MSc Audiology
  • AHCS registration
  • HCPC ( CS) registration

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in NHS hearing instruments
  • Use of Auditbase
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working in NHS
  • Experience within adult diagnostics (ABR/VNG /Calorics) and report writing

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good Computer Skills
Desirable criteria
  • Use of Word / Excel / Powerpoint
