Job overview

We are recruiting for a Patient Services Administrator - Treatment Centre who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

This is an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Ophthalmology team here at East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust in Stevenage, as a Patient Service Administrator.

You will be required to work cross site at Lister Hospital, New QEII Hospital in Welwyn Garden City and Hertford County Hospital.

This role has shift working patterns (our shifts are 7-3, 9-5, 10-6, 12-8) and covering cross site covers and working on one Saturday a month.

The Patient Service Administrator post is a varied role working within the Bookings, Waiting List and Reception teams.

You will need to be confident dealing with members of the public in both face to face and telephone situations.

Main duties of the job

This involves booking clinics, answering the phone, providing reception cover for clinics.

Cashing out clinics, liaising with clinicians and other staff to ensure smooth running of the department.

Report potential concerns regarding clinic availability to the line manager, anticipating future needs to ensure demands on the Lister Treatment Centre are met.

Confirm the validity and accuracy of patient demographics and update appropriate systems.

Monitor IT systems for potential duplicate entries or related referrals and take remedial action as necessary.

Use the PAS system, Choose and Book software to receive and manage referrals, support choice offers and book appointments.
