Job overview

We are recruiting for a Physiotherapist - Rotational who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We offer strong professional leadership and rotations across East and North Hertfordshire, working in partnership with Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

Deliver a complex package of high quality healthcare including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to patients with various needs in a variety of settings. Participate in the Band 5 Rotational scheme which involves musculoskeletal outpatients, community care, acute orthopaedics, respiratory care including critical care, care of the elderly, acute medicine, stroke rehabilitation and medical rehabilitation.

Assess, diagnose and treat own patient caseload and maintain own records as an autonomous practitioner as well as communicating with relevant medical and nursing staff, social workers, other health care professionals, patients, relatives and carers

Be responsible for own patient caseload and work predominantly without direct supervision.  Regular indirect clinical supervision is provided by a more senior member of the team. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences and reflective practices.  As well as participating in the physiotherapy emergency respiratory on-call service.

Qualifications/Training

Essential criteria
  • Physiotherapy degree or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • Documented evidence of professional development

Previous Experience

Essential criteria
  • Ability to assess patients conditions, establish the patients problem, formulate and implement a treatment plan in a wide variety of clinical settings
  • Basic understanding of current NHS issues, professional standards, CPD, clinical governance

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate complex and/or sensitive information requiring empathy and reassurance
  • Knowledge of barriers to communication and strategies to overcome them
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, other health professionals, patients and their relatives/carers
  • Ability to present information accurately, written and oral in English
  • Clinical problem solving ability in routine cases
