We are recruiting Registered Nurses & Operating Department Practitioners who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients
Join our dynamic theatre team at Procedure rooms, Lister Hospital and QEII.
Our state of the art facility boasts a modern procedure room with two theatres and a discharge lounge. Embrace the opportunity to contribute to various specialities such as Orthopaedics, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Plastics and Ophthalmology. The procedure rooms cater to a diverse range of day surgery cases across multiple specialties.
The successful post holder will need to be able to work at both the QE11 and Lister sites.

Main duties of the job
Plan, implement and evaluate the peri-operative care of patients as part of a multi disciplinary team.
Monitor, assess and care for patients in the immediate post-operative period.
You will be expected to rotate to cover Main Theatres on nights, weekends and bank holidays and evening shifts in the emergency theatre.
You will have good organisational skills and have the ability to manage time effectively.
Adhere to the HCPC / NMC Code of Conduct, as appropriate.

Qualifications / Training
Essential criteria
- RGN and/or ODP Registration with NMC / HPC
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Evidence of mentorship & preceptorship training
- Completion of relevant critical care modules at level 2
- Advanced Life support certificate
Previous Experience
Desirable criteria
- Relevant experience in either an inpatient or day surgery theatre or other relevant clinical area
- Peri-operative practice…….multi skilled in anaesthetics, recovery and scrub
- Experience of providing clinical support outside of the theatre area
- Participation in formulation or procedures to ensure best practice
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Can implement research based practice
- Patient focused approach
- Understands clinical governance
- Teamwork
- Understands the work involved in caring for a patient in theatre
- Knowledge of the aims of the Trust
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of the DipHe ODP course and support required pre and post qualification by other junior staff
- Knowledge of privacy / dignity & infection control relating to theatre area

Desirable criteria
- Can perform in the role of either/and/or anaesthetic assistant, scrub and circulating assistant, recovery person or has relevant experience within a critical / acute care setting.
- Can perform within a surgical speciality or has relevant experience within a surgical speciality
- Can effectively and efficiently run a theatre list
- Can participate in the audit process
