Our complete commitment to developing careers means we’re looking for proactive, motivated, forward thinking, and dynamic individuals to join our clinical team. This post is an important part of our ongoing development of medical services at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, offering the successful applicant the opportunity to work closely with the existing Urology Consultants to provide a high standard of care across the Trust. We are seeking consultants with enthusiasm, commitment, and drive to work closely with colleagues throughout the organisation and within the community to help lead the organisation.
The Urology Unit is a nationally renowned centre providing a broad range of Urological services and subspecialties. As part of the Mount Vernon Cancer Network, we provide complex robotic surgery to South Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. Subspecialties include Paediatric Urology, Stone Surgery, Reconstructive Surgery and BPH treatment. All new referrals are seen within a One Stop Urology Clinic by Consultants. We work closely with our regional Renal Unit and UroRadiology colleagues, including Interventional Radiology. We are highly rated in the GMC Trainees Survey and were the first unit in the UK to have a Royal College of Surgeons Robotic Fellowship. We participate in the training of StRs from within the region and have recently been provided with a third StR within the Unit.
