Job overview

We are seeking to recruit talented Team Leaders to join our Community Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) leadership teams across Hertfordshire. These are new roles to strengthen operational delivery and high quality responsive care across our community services. Working in conjunction with the leadership teams and Operational Managers, you will be supported to develop your managerial skills whilst also holding some clinical involvement.

 

This is a super opportunity to join a growing team and be part of an exciting new future for our CYPMHS service.

 

Our teams are based across our region including: Watford, Borehamwood, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, Hertford, Welwyn Garden City, Hoddesdon, Stevenage.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work in collaboration with the Community CYPMHS Operational Manager, to ensure the highest standards of practice and service delivery. This will include management of duty, rotas, recruitment/HR, allocations and case management, maintaining governance, patient experience, performance, finance etc

 

To work as part of the CYPMHS Service Line to deliver safe services in line with Thrive principles

 

To provide day to day management, leadership and supervision to a multi- disciplinary community CYPMHS team.

 

The Team Leader will operationally manage nurses, social workers, psychologists and other clinical staff, ensuring that the needs of service users are met through the effective deployment of these staff. They will also maintain a clinical role and/ or a caseload dependent on need.

 

You will contribute at a local level to the development and implementation of policies and procedures.

 

You may on occasion deputise for the Operational Manager in their absence, as agreed with the Service Manager, and provide cover for other Team Leaders.

 

You will ensure, in collaboration with other professional colleagues that professional practice meets standards as set by HPFT and/or professional statutes and bodies.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TRAINING

Essential criteria
  • Professional qualification: RMN/DipSW/OT/Psychology
  • Evidence of current registration with NMC, GSCC, HCPC or another professional body
Desirable criteria
  • Cert or Dip. in management

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Post qualifying experience of working with people with mental health problems in the community.
  • Experience of providing clinical and management supervision.
  • Experience of working within a community mental health service
  • Experience of involvement in service development or change management
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of leadership within a mental health service
