Job overview

This is a vital role within the Trust. The post holder will have overall responsibility for Trust Clinical Systems and leadership of the Trust’s SystmOne support team. This includes the system development, training, helpdesk  and Clinical Safety Officer.  The Trust is currently undertaking a comprehensive SystmOne optimisation project - the post holder will be pivotal to the success of this project. Hybrid working arrangements are in place. The listed interview date is subject to change.

Main duties of the job

A senior Trust manager working closely with Directors, Associate Directors, General and Deputy Managers, Information Governance, Digital, Reporting and Transformation teams to ensure that Clinical Systems support operational service delivery and organisational strategic priorities, including quality and safety standards of service provision.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Bring leadership and vision to the Clinical Systems support team, providing expertise and direction for the development of the service to support clinical services and users, as well as organisational strategic priorities.

To provide organisational level advice in the use and promotion of Electronic Patient Records (EPR) within the Trust. 

To provide advice regarding best practice changes to clinical systems based on service needs and in line the delivery of national directives.

To take responsibility as required for the effective implementation of national policy development, statutory requirements and best practice, in line with relevant strategic frameworks, guidance and legislation. This includes configuration and optimisation of SystmOne (and other supplementary clinical systems) to meet the requirements of national dataset including the Community Service Data Set (CSDS) and the Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS).

To promote equality and diversity, ensuring that care is culturally sensitive, and the dignity and respect of patients and carers is paramount at all times.

Perform the role of Organisation sponsor and work closely with HBL Registration Authority managers (RA) for HCT to standardise processes for smartcards across HCT for access to clinical systems.

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge through experience
  • Project Management qualification e.g., PRINCE
  • Evidence of continuing professional and managerial experience and development

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience and demonstrable achievements at a management level
  • Previous project management experience within the NHS working with a variety of Clinical Services
  • Understanding of patient records-based reporting datasets including the CSDS and the MHSDS and how to maximise compliance
  • Experience in leading large scale organisational system implementations and changes
