Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Work independently to provide administrative and reception service to the Emergency Department and Urgent Care Service, being one of the first points of contact for all walk in patients / visitors to the Emergency Department.

Qualifications and role specific knowledge*

Essential criteria
  • Good educational standards including 4 GCSEs (Maths and English essential)
  • NVQ 2 customer service/administration or other subject
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of using Microsoft programmes, to include Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience of direct patient/customer contact
  • Experience of administrative processes and IT applications

Physical Skills

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates self-discipline including pride in personal appearance

Aptitudes

Essential criteria
  • Must be willing to be flexible around both tasks and working hours
  • Polite, courteous, team focused, reliable, motivated

Abilities

  • Must be able to prioritise own workload
