Job overview

Do you want to be part of a dynamic team, which consists of 11 Consultant Surgeons, 2 Associate Specialists’, 4 SpRs and 3 Staff Grades and 6 junior doctors in ENT?  As a University hospital, we have excellent training and education links.

Main duties of the job

Provide support to GPST2, F1, F2, CT1, CT2. Provide support to A&E to maintain 4 hours rule.
• Elective work – day to day cover of all patients admitted under supervising Consultant.
• Provide support and training to junior staff. Attend outpatient clinics including, assist consultants with both day and elective surgeries. Co-ordinate, communicate and work as a team with other available Grades within the department.
• Ensure that records of patients in your care are accurate, up to date, legible and signed.
• Junior Medical Staff should endeavour to ensure that no more than two members in any one grade are absent at any one time. Approval of leave is at the discretion of the department and is dependent upon the continuity of patient care.
There is a designated session for Special Professional Admin, and another admin session to keep up to date patient pathways
