Main duties of the job

Under supervision provide assistance to the multidisciplinary team in the provision of a high standard of patient care within the Theatres, Day Surgery and other departments. To participate in Theatre and Day Surgery work, as directed by Senior Staff.

Pack and unpack the instrument trolleys and deliver sterile items to theatres and other departments within the hospital. Track instruments using scanning device onto the T- DOC operating system (this element is site specific)

To provide a patient transportation services within the Surgical Directorate, collecting and returning patients from and to other wards and departments.

After appropriate training you will assist the theatre staff in delivering direct patient care within the operating theatre by undertaking the role of the circulating practitioner during surgical procedures.
