Main duties of the job

To support the Theatre Matron in the delivery of the Health & Safety (H&S) and Risk Trust H&S responsibilities, including H&S, fire safety, COSHH and security.  To facilitate compliance with legislation in providing appropriate advice.

Essential criteria
  • General education GCSE Grade C and above
  • Care Certificate

Skills and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Computer literate and IT skills in Microsoft Office
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Teaching/Presentation skills at personal and group level for small groups and toolbox talks
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Organisational and prioritising skills
Desirable criteria
  • A working knowledge of current and impending health and safety, fire safety legislation and COSHH
  • Fire warden training
  • Previous experience in a care setting

Governance

Essential criteria
  • Participates in regular clinical governance activity with evidence of annual audit project or quality improvement activity
  • Understands principles and concepts of clinical governance

Personal and Professional Attributes

Essential criteria
  • Able to perform tasks to a high standard under supervision
  • Ability to follow written & verbal instructions and able to cope in demanding situations
