Night Nurse/Paramedic

Job overview

We are recruiting for a skilled Night Nurse/Paramedic to join our Urgent Care Service in East Kent. 

The East Kent Night Nursing Service provides care for patients overnight with an urgent clinical need such as end of life symptom management, verification of expected death and urinary catheter issues.  Referrals are received from NHS 111, SECAMB, Out of Hours GP and directly from patients and relatives via our Local Referral Unit.  

After a period of induction and consolidation you would be expected to rotate as the shift co-ordinator.  This role includes triaging the calls and offering telephone advice or allocation for a clinician to visit. 

We are looking to recruit an experienced band 5 practitioner to the service primarily based in Ashford. The successful candidate would need to be comfortable with lone working and driving long distances across the geographical area. 

It is essential that you are comfortable with lone working and possess the relevant skills and knowledge to work independently with minimal supervision.   

A full valid driving license and access to a car is essential. 

 

Main duties of the job

Your role will involve: 

• Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of holistic care 

•The development of integrated care plans in partnership with the patient

•To order equipment and send onward referrals as necessary

•To support in the supervision and development of all junior staff including Health Care Assistants and Students

•To actively work as a member of the multi-professional team to provide high quality care to patients

•To undertake a range of competent clinical interventions and identify any deterioration in patients’ condition, taking appropriate action.

•Manage a caseload of patients on a daily basis consisting of patients with complex needs associated within a specific speciality.

•To support in duty role and complete triages

  • [email protected] Healthcare Professional with relevant Professional body (1st Level Nurse/ NMC or Physiotherapist; Occupational Therapist; etc / HCPC) Must have valid UK NMC PIN
