Senior Physiotherapist (Musculoskeletal Paediatrics)
Band 6
Job overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our MSK Paediatric Therapy Team. We are looking for a motivated Physiotherapist, who would like to further develop their career as a paediatric musculoskeletal physiotherapist within a highly rewarding and progressive team. There will also be the opportunity to specialise and gain more experience in the field of orthopaedic paediatrics.
The organisation is within The We Care System which utilises a multi-layered approach to improvement allowing staff to develop and produce a variety of ideas to combat the issues and problems that have been identified. The system allows for the deployment of:
· Strategic Initiatives which are long term projects and focus led and driven by our executive
· Trust Priority Improvement Projects which are short term projects allocated to a range of project teams made up from our staff groups focusing on impacting our True North metrics and breakthrough objectives
· Ward Based OMS which delivers daily management and continuous improvement on the frontline
Main duties of the job
You will be working as an autonomous practitioner with senior support from a team of highly experienced clinical specialist physiotherapists and advanced practice physiotherapists. We have a rotational band 5 physiotherapy scheme as well as students which you will be involved with as well as working alongside therapy support staff. The service is committed to continued professional development and service improvement, and the successful applicant would be expected to fully participate in ongoing service development activities and the regular in-service training programme.
You will assist in the clinical delivery of the paediatric musculoskeletal physiotherapy service trust wide. Your caseload will consist of a range of 1:1 assessments and treatments as well as being responsible for independently running group sessions in our gym space and hydrotherapy pool.
Working for our organisation
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five
hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference’. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.
Applications for this role should be written by the applicant. If artificial intelligence (AI) programmes are used then the application may be rejected due to this document being an important part of the assessment process. This does not prevent applicants seeking appropriate support with applications should they need to for the purposes of any declared disability.
Please note that if you require a Certificate of Sponsorship to work in the UK you must declare this on your application form, even if you currently have a certificate of sponsorship or a work permit for another role and are already working in the country. Please note we are only able to sponsor candidates on a Skilled Worker Visa applying for roles Band 5 and above.
