Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our MSK Paediatric Therapy Team. We are looking for a motivated Physiotherapist, who would like to further develop their career as a paediatric musculoskeletal physiotherapist within a highly rewarding and progressive team. This is a flexible working secondment opportunity. It would suit anyone interested in working with children, or looking to enhance their current MSK skills within Paediatrics.

Main duties of the job

You will be working as an autonomous practitioner with senior support from a team of highly experienced clinical specialist physiotherapists and advanced practice physiotherapists. We have a rotational band 5  physiotherapy scheme which you will be involved with as well as working alongside therapy support staff. The service is committed to continued professional development and service improvement, and the successful applicant would be expected to fully participate in ongoing service development activities and the regular in-service training programme.

You will assist in the clinical delivery of the paediatric musculoskeletal physiotherapy service in the Outpatient Physiotherapy Department based at The Kent and Canterbury Hospital, although you may be required to visit other sites as per the service need. Your caseload will consist of a range of 1:1 assessments and treatments as well as being responsible for independently running group sessions in our gym space and hydrotherapy pool.

Working for our organisation

The organisation is currently launching its new improvement focus in the form of an improvement system called We Care. The We Care System is a fundamentally new model that the organisation will be shifting to, it champions empowerment, promotes innovation and will bolster the connection and collaboration of staff throughout the organisation.

The We Care System utilises a multi-layered approach to improvement allowing staff to develop and produce a variety of ideas to combat the issues and problems that have been identified. The system allows for the deployment of:

· Strategic Initiatives which are long term projects and focus led and driven by our executive

· Trust Priority Improvement Projects which are short term projects allocated to a range of project teams made up from our staff groups focusing on impacting our True North metrics and breakthrough objectives

· Ward Based OMS which delivers daily management and continuous improvement on the frontline
