Job overview

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic person to join our team on Marlowe. We have a  full time, Fixed term (maternity cover)Band 5, Staff Nurse  vacancy covering days, nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

Our shifts are long days (07:30-20:00), Nights (19:30-08:00),

 Early (07:30-15:30) and Late (12:30-20:00)

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role include;

  • Acting as the identified nurse for a group of patients by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating their care.
  • Providing personal care to patients including pressure sore prevention, toileting and catheter care.
  • Taking and electronically recording patient’s vital signs and blood glucose and acting upon the results.
  • Carrying out and documenting patient risk assessments and implementing measure to reduce risk and keep patients safe.
  • Administering medications via various routes.
  • Supporting and supervising junior members of staff in giving high standards of care.
  • Liaising with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participating in planning timely and safe discharges.
