Job overview

We are looking for a Cancer care Line Coordinator to join our busy team at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital. This role involves working as part of a dynamic team within the Cancer Care group. 

We are a hard working, friendly and flexible team, meeting ever changing demands and require someone of a similar nature. the successful  candidate will be hard working and able to use initiative.

  • Booking of appointments on allscripts 
  • Triaging  of calls
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Customer service 
  • Experienced administrator.
  • Great organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise your work effectively
  • First class communication skills with a professional and friendly manner
  • High levels of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Understanding of the sensitivity in the nature of work they're carrying out and dealing with patient matters in the strictest of confidence
  • A flexible and friendly working approach
  • An understanding of NHS targets.

Qualifications and training

GCSE in Maths and English or Equivalent

Good knowledge across a range of health or social care settings

 

Experience

Excellent keyboard / PC skills including effective use of Microsoft Office

Experience of working for and within a team

 

Previous experience in customer service or reception

 

Experience of dealing with non-routine and complex problem solving

 

Ability to produce Excel spreadsheets or Work documents.

Experience of working with Allscripts, Sunrise and other NHS systems

Working knowledge of KOMS (cancer database)

 

Experience of working within Cancer

 

Relevant health or social care experience at Band 3 or equivalent

Skills

Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

Ability to communicate with, co-ordinate and liaise with a multidisciplinary team

Ability to remain calm in a busy environment whilst working under pressure

Able to make judgements involving facts or situations requiring some analysis

Data entry, text processing, storage of data, numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail

Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to the needs of a changing service.
